Winner of 2012 RedBud Award for

  Outstanding Attaction

The Chickasaw Cultural Center is a unique complex centered around the history and culture of the Chickasaw Indian Nation. Visitors begin in a Pre-Show area where they will hear the story of the Chickasaw ancestry. At the end of the story, the theater door opens and visitors learn of how the Chickasaw culture lives today. At the end of the show, the screen lifts and doors open to the Spirit Forest where the Chickasaw beliefs can be seen and heard.

Throughout the museum, visitor presence sensors are used to animate sounds, lighting, and projections. There are five mini-theaters that tell of Spirit Lessons from the Chickasaw people. There are three interactive stations where visitors can learn the Chickasaw language. At the end of the experience, visitors walk through the Removal Area which tells the story and hardships of the removal from Mississippi through the detection of visitor location.
